Inspirational Motivational Speakers: Mary Alice Hill

Mary Alice Hill first began her involvement with sports as a track and field athlete who has been trained for the Olympics before she made it as a well known motivational speaker. She became a guide to other women who also wanted to train for the said sport as their coach. Her coaching career gave way to the Olympic victory for four athletes and a record for the team. Hill then set off to continue changing the role of women in sports when she accepted the position of Director of Women’s Athletics offered at the Colorado State University.
Being an athletic trainer not only requires knowledge in the sport chosen but a strong character. During Hill’s fight for women equality, she has shown an intense passion towards this cause even standing up courageously in a case. With this and her wise judgment all throughout her career, she became the most respectable woman figure to have redefined women’s equal right in sports.
To be even considered a chance much less offered the job which was what happened with Hill and Colorado State University was an achievement during that time. The position entailed overtaking huge responsibilities not only to handle sports and physical activities of the whole campus but training and encouragement to the university team. It also required excellent coaching experience for several years.
There are as much right for women to enjoy baseball, soccer and any other sports as men would. Sports is not just a form of entertainment but a way to get in touch with one’s culture or represent one’s country. It has become such an essential part of people’s lives even to women. This is why it is important to have women stand up just as Hill did to let others become aware of the impact of gender inequality. Fortunately for women all over the world, this gap between men and women is continually dwindling thanks to actions by people such as that of Hill.
